The Sleeping Beast stirs once more!
Yeah it seems as if an eternity has passed since I last posted. What has happened? I passed my COD, and Finished Culinary school save an english credit thanks to the creepy necrophile english instructor who wanted us to write about pics in his snuff photography gallery.
I took a few weeks off to unwind then found a job at a trendy little restaurant. It was recently purchased and converted from a "gay" restaurant to a more eclectic and all inclusive client base....at least that was the plan. The queens turned their backs on us and the places gay history made the heteros too uncomfortable.
After about three months we shut down and I got moved to the "mother" restaurant in the bosses declining empire. between gigs I became a health nut. Good thing, the food at the second place was greasy and fatty. I began noticing health hazards. The final straw was when the refrigeration on the line went out and the food sat through the whole breakfast and lunch services at temps ranging from 50 to 80 degrees. I told the owner we had to toss the tainted food and put fresh items on an ice line. His reply was NO. he then ran out the door and returned hiding behind his daughter to grab his coat. As the orders poured in I realized I couldn't do it. I walked out. My resume was trumped by my ethics and now I am back on the market hoping that I won't be black-balled. But hey that's life. At least I can sleep at night guilt free.
I have since given up the nicotine. Those of you who know history of out smoking chimneys are probably amazed. But it's true. Haven't smoked since Jan 29.
Jeff and I are still together and the honeymoon is still going strong. He has been so supportive with all the changes: New (I hate using this word) diet, change of employment and stopping smoking. He's helped me keep a grip on it all. He's a real prince.
Since I changed the way I eat I've lost all of my Culinary school weight gain, and can fit into my size 30 jeans again, although the 32s are more comfortable.
My brother and his wife are expecting a baby this summer. More news on that as it develops.
So other than the lack of work, Life in general is great. Especially since Romney dropped out.
